These comforts manifest as collective numbness: societal norms that justify division, cultural stories that normalize injustice, or groupthink that avoids discomforting truths. The deceptive veil uses them to maintain stasis, suggesting that challenging collective comforts threatens belonging or stability. In our shared contemplations, this breaking echoes the Spirit’s conviction in the early church (Acts 2:37), where grace pierced communal complacency to awaken repentance and unity, revealing that true comfort lies in alignment with the divine, not in illusory peace.<\/p>\n
