Today’s Veil to Pierce<\/strong><\/h3>\n

You have been taught that discipline is the price you pay for grace \u2014 something you must add to make yourself worthy.
\nThat teaching is Maya wearing a religious mask.<\/p>\n

The false self turns discipline into another form of striving, where the more you push, the more you prove you are serious. It whispers that grace gets you started but discipline gets you finished. This veil creates the illusion that growth is a transaction: your effort in exchange for God\u2019s approval. In our reflections, this distortion echoes the older brother\u2019s dutiful resentment in Luke 15 \u2014 the belief that the feast must be earned through hard work rather than simply received.<\/p>\n

Grace does not need your discipline to complete its work.
\nIt only invites your discipline to stop resisting what is already complete.<\/p>\n

Grace’s Revelatory Power<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Grace redefines discipline as the gentle art of stopping interference, revealing Maya’s veil by showing that true growth is not something you manufacture but something you allow. It does not demand heroic effort but offers a simple, consistent \u201cyes\u201d to what grace is already doing, as in the father\u2019s patient watch for the prodigal. This power is freeing and steady: grace exposes the deceptive veil of self-powered holiness, dissolving the illusion that you must earn what has already been given. Through this, grace fosters rest: the false self\u2019s striving fades, allowing discipline to become the natural rhythm of remembering who you already are.<\/p>\n

Contemplative Depth<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Take one area where you feel the pressure to \u201cdo more\u201d spiritually.
\nNot to push harder. Just to look at it.<\/p>\n

Feel the veil tighten \u2014 the subtle assumption that you are still lacking, the mental checklist of what you must do to arrive. Then let grace do what it does best: nothing dramatic. Just a gentle turn of attention.<\/p>\n

You do not need to add more effort.
\nYou only need to notice that the same Life that rolled away the stone is already moving in you \u2014 right now, in this ordinary place of striving.<\/p>\n

Discipline is not a test.
\nIt is an invitation to stop resisting what is already true.<\/p>\n

Applying the Insight<\/strong><\/h3>\n

When the old pressure to \u201cdo more\u201d arises, pause.
\nAsk yourself one quiet question:
\n\u201cAm I striving from fear, or resting in the Life already given?\u201d
\nThen breathe.
\nThe answer usually changes everything.<\/p>\n

Choose one area where you feel the pressure to do more spiritually. Sit with it for five minutes without trying to push harder. Notice where the veil tightens.
