Day 3: Grace in the Body\u2019s Hospitality<\/h2>\n

Today’s Veil to Pierce<\/strong><\/h3>\n

You have been taught that hospitality is a special skill reserved for the naturally welcoming.
\nThat teaching is the veil of illusion at its most limiting.<\/p>\n

The false self treats hospitality as a personality trait or a ministry assignment \u2014 something some people are good at and others can safely leave to them. It whispers that true openness risks disruption or exhaustion. This veil creates the illusion that the steadfast love that holds the body is selective about who may fully enter. In our shared contemplations, this distortion echoes every community that offers polite welcome while quietly protecting its inner circle.<\/p>\n

Grace does not limit hospitality to the gifted.
\nIt opens the body\u2019s hospitality as the natural expression of the love that has already included everyone.<\/p>\n

Grace’s Revelatory Power<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Grace in the body\u2019s hospitality reveals that the eternal root of Charis \u2014 the steadfast, covenantal love of God \u2014 consistently expands the circle. This love does not wait for the stranger to become familiar before making room. Charis is this same love now visible when the body makes space for the different, the unknown, and the still-in-process without requiring them to earn their place. This power is expansive and costly: grace exposes the deceptive veil of \u201chospitality is optional or specialized,\u201d dissolving the illusion that the shared life is safest when kept among the known. Through this, grace restores true openness: the false self\u2019s protective boundaries fade, allowing the body\u2019s hospitality to become a visible demonstration of the love that has always held it.<\/p>\n

Contemplative Depth<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Take one person or group that still feels outside the full welcome of the body.
\nNot to force inclusion. Just to look at the space around them.<\/p>\n

Feel the veil tighten \u2014 the subtle preference for the familiar, the quiet calculation of cost, the assumption that full hospitality must be carefully managed. Then let grace do what it does best: nothing dramatic. Just a gentle turn of attention.<\/p>\n

You do not need special gifting to open the circle.
\nYou only need to notice that the steadfast love anchored before time is already making room, and Charis is inviting the body to participate \u2014 right now, in this ordinary place of difference.<\/p>\n

Hospitality is not specialized.
\nIt is an invitation to stop resisting what is already true.<\/p>\n

Applying the Insight<\/strong><\/h3>\n

When the impulse to protect the inner circle arises and the old caution begins, pause.
\nAsk yourself one quiet question:
\n\u201cAm I limiting welcome from fear, or resting in the love already given?\u201d<\/p>\n

Then breathe.
\nThe answer usually changes everything.<\/p>\n

Choose one person or group that still feels outside the full welcome. Sit with it for five minutes without forcing inclusion. Notice where the veil tightens. Then ask: What if the steadfast love is already opening hospitality here as Charis? Write what arises.<\/p>\n
