The veil has many hooks to deal with.
M4:Week 1: Maya in Personal Futures
Day 1: Maya in Personal Futures
Today’s Veil to Pierce
As we begin Week 13, carrying forward the commitment to everlasting grace and the grace-filled aspirations from last week’s eternal horizons, we now turn our attention to the Maya veils that specifically cloud our personal futures. This veil operates by projecting separation into what lies ahead — the false self whispers that the eternal life unveiled in the Passover lamb and resurrection is fragile or conditional when faced with real-life unknowns, career shifts, relationships, or long-term dreams. It creates illusions that the future is a separate realm we must conquer alone, where the divine essence might be absent or distant. In our shared contemplations, this veil echoes the disciples’ lingering doubts even after the empty tomb (Luke 24:36-43), where grace gently pierces to reveal that every personal future is already held in the same oneness that rose on Easter morning.
Grace’s Revelatory Power
Grace reveals and dissolves Maya in personal futures by showing the future not as a threatening unknown but as an unfolding of the eternal life already awakened in us. It does not remove uncertainty but redeems it, as in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), where grace sends the disciples into the unknown with the assurance “I am with you always.” This power is hopeful and steadying: grace exposes the deceptive projections of loss or failure, dissolving them so personal futures become a canvas for the same glory revealed at Passover. Through this, grace fosters confident abiding: the false self’s anxious distortions fade, allowing our horizons to flow as natural extensions of the divine essence.
Contemplative Depth
To pierce this veil, meditate on a personal future concern — perhaps a transition, decision, or open horizon — and observe Maya’s veil amplifying it with fear or control. Invite grace to reveal the unity: in extended stillness, feel the veil thin — the uncertainty softens, divine presence emerges, and a profound alignment unfolds. As depth builds, sense the revelation: mental projections dissolve, the heart trusts the flow, and oneness infuses the horizon. This practice uncovers layers: future anxieties release, emotions of doubt evolve into peace, and the soul experiences the future as grace’s continuation. Grace guides this with patient light, turning contemplation into a sacred preview, where Maya’s veils of personal futures yield to the truth of non-dual oneness, already alive and unfolding.
Applying the Insight See personal futures through grace daily: in planning or uncertainty, remember the Passover and Easter unveiling, letting unity shape the path instead of Maya’s illusions.
