The veil has many hooks to deal with.

Day 4: Grace as Chesed in Evangelistic Announcement
Today’s Veil to Pierce
You have been taught that evangelism is a specialized technique for converting outsiders.
That teaching is the veil of illusion at its most transactional.
The false self turns the evangelistic gift into a method of recruitment or persuasion. It whispers that the good news must be packaged correctly and delivered by those with the right skills. This veil creates the illusion that Charis is something we manage rather than something that shines through us. In our shared contemplations, this distortion echoes the early church discovering that ordinary believers carried the announcement simply by living and speaking the reality of Chesed.
Grace does not reduce the good news to technique.
It announces through Chesed as transparent Charis.
Grace’s Revelatory Power
Grace as Chesed in evangelistic announcement reveals that the eternal steadfast love makes itself known through the lives of those who have received it. Chesed does not require polished methods. It simply becomes visible. Charis is this same announcing love now shining through ordinary people who have been held by it. This power is free and attractive: grace exposes the deceptive veil of “evangelism is a specialized skill,” dissolving the illusion that only trained people may announce the good news. Through this, grace restores natural witness: the false self’s performance anxiety fades, allowing Chesed to announce itself as Charis through the transparency of the body.
Contemplative Depth
Take one ordinary place where the good news could become visible through your life or the community’s life.
Not to force a method. Just to look at it.
Feel the veil tighten — the pressure to perform correctly, the fear of inadequacy, the assumption that announcement requires special skill. Then let grace do what it does best: nothing dramatic. Just a gentle turn of attention.
You do not need polished technique to announce what has held you.
You only need to notice that Chesed — the eternal steadfast love — is already making itself known, and Charis is inviting transparency — right now, in this ordinary place of life.
Evangelistic announcement is not technique.
It is an invitation to stop resisting what is already true.
Applying the Insight
When the pressure to perform the good news arises and the old inadequacy begins, pause.
Ask yourself one quiet question:
“Am I performing announcement from fear, or resting in the Chesed already given?”
Then breathe.
The answer usually changes everything.
Daily Reflection Prompt
Choose one ordinary place of life. Sit with it for five minutes without forcing method. Notice where the veil tightens. Then ask: What if Chesed is already announcing itself here as Charis? Write what arises.
