The veil has many hooks to deal with.
M2-Week 3: Maya Blocking Inner Guidance
Day 5: Fruits of Grace in True Nature
Today’s Veil to Pierce
As we reach Day 5 in Week 3, extending from transformation beyond the apparent self, we now turn to the fruits of grace in true nature—the natural outgrowths of divine essence that the deceptive veil often suppresses or misattributes. These fruits—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23)—are not achievements but manifestations of the Spirit’s unblocked flow. The veil distorts by presenting them as moral accomplishments or fleeting emotions, where the false self claims credit or doubts their authenticity, creating illusions that true nature is separate from these qualities. Such deceptions obscure the source’s abundant expression, suggesting fruits must be forced rather than allowed. In our shared contemplations, this emergence counters the veil, revealing fruits as grace’s inevitable yield when inner guidance flows freely.
Grace’s Revelatory Power
Grace cultivates and manifests these fruits, revealing the deceptive veil by showing them as inherent to true nature, not added virtues. It doesn’t cultivate through effort but by removing blocks, allowing the Spirit’s presence to bear fruit organically, as in John 15:5’s vine and branches imagery, where abiding yields abundance. This power is organic and abundant: grace exposes illusions of self-made goodness or unworthiness, freeing the true nature to express fully. Through this, grace fosters authenticity: the false self’s forced or doubtful distortions fade, giving way to effortless fruits that reflect the divine essence in relational and inner life.
Contemplative Depth
To taste these fruits, engage a fruit-bearing meditation: select one fruit, such as peace, and focus on its presence in your true nature, observing the deceptive veil’s suppression—perhaps through habitual anxiety. Invite grace to allow it: in stillness, feel the fruit arise naturally—the mind’s turbulence calms, the heart rests, and a profound harmony unfolds. As depth builds, sense the emergence: the veil’s resistance dissolves, other fruits interweave, and the soul experiences true nature’s richness. This practice uncovers layers: conditioned blocks release, emotions of striving evolve into ease, and the being radiates grace’s produce. Grace nurtures this with fruitful abundance, turning contemplation into a harvest, where deceptive veils yield to the fruits’ truth of non-dual oneness, vibrant and sustaining.
