Following restoration without transaction, we now address overcoming self-righteous veils—the deceptive Maya constructs where the false self assumes moral superiority or entitlement in salvation, creating illusions that grace favors the “deserving.” This veil manifests as judgmental attitudes or subtle pride, perpetuating separation by dividing “us” (the righteous) from “them” (the lost). The false self uses this to justify exclusion or complacency, obscuring the divine essence’s inclusive nature. In our reflections, this overcoming echoes the older brother’s self-righteousness in Luke 15:25-32, where grace pierces the veil of entitlement to invite all into the feast, revealing salvation as shared awakening, not earned privilege.

Grace’s Revelatory Power

Grace overcomes self-righteous veils by revealing them as deceptive barriers to true unity, humbling the heart to receive salvation as gift for all. To overcome this veil, meditate on a self-righteous tendency—perhaps subtle judgment toward others’ paths—and observe Maya’s veil reinforcing it with entitlement. Invite grace to humble and overcome: in deep stillness, feel the veil crack—the pride softens, humility rises, and a profound equality emerges. As depth builds, sense the overcoming: moral illusions dissolve, the heart levels with all, and unity invites without exclusion. This practice uncovers layers: pride’s roots release, emotions of superiority evolve into empathy, and the soul experiences grace’s leveling love.
