The veil has many hooks to deal with.
M3:Week 4: Veils on Eternal Horizons
Day 2: Unknowns as Illusion Opportunities
Today’s Veil to Pierce
Building directly on grace-guided planning, we now contemplate the unknowns that stretch before us as illusion opportunities — the deceptive Maya veil that turns uncertainty into fear or paralysis after the Passover and Easter unveiling. This veil tries to convince us that the eternal life revealed in the lamb and resurrection is fragile when faced with real-life unknowns, creating illusions that the future is a threat rather than an open field for grace. The false self clings to these projections, suggesting the glory we tasted at Easter might slip away in the ordinary unknowns ahead. In our reflections, this reframing echoes the disciples’ journey after the empty tomb (Luke 24), where grace turned their confusion and fear into the birth of the early church.
Grace’s Revelatory Power
Grace redeems unknowns as sacred opportunities, revealing Maya’s veil by showing that every uncertainty is an invitation to live the Passover and Easter reality more deeply. It does not remove the unknown but transforms it, as in the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35), where grace walked with the disciples in their confusion until their eyes were opened. This power is hopeful and creative: grace exposes the deceptive fear of loss or failure, dissolving it so unknowns become the very space where eternal life proves itself alive. Through this, grace cultivates wonder: the false self’s dread-filled illusions fade, allowing us to step into the future as co-creators with the same grace that rolled away the stone.
Contemplative Depth
To embrace the unknown, meditate on a specific uncertainty ahead — perhaps a transition or open question — and observe Maya’s veil casting it as threat. Invite grace to reveal the opportunity: in deep stillness, feel the veil shift — the fear softens, possibility arises, and a profound trust emerges. As depth builds, sense the transformation: mental worst-case loops dissolve, the heart opens to adventure, and unity infuses the mystery. This practice uncovers layers: clinging to certainty releases, emotions of anxiety evolve into excitement, and the soul discovers grace in the uncharted. Grace accompanies this with adventurous tenderness, turning contemplation into a sacred exploration, where Maya’s veils of unknown fear yield to opportunity’s truth of non-dual oneness, boundless and inviting.
Applying the Insight
Turn unknowns into opportunities daily: in uncertainty, let grace guide, embracing mystery as the canvas of the eternal life unveiled at Passover.
