The veil has many hooks to deal with.
M5:Week 2: Grace in Relationships
Day 4: Loyalty Through Grace
Today’s Veil to Pierce
You have been taught that loyalty means never questioning, never leaving, never changing.
That teaching is the veil of illusion we have called Maya at its most binding.
The false self turns loyalty into another cage — a demand that people stay the same so you can feel secure. It whispers that true love requires sameness. This veil creates the illusion that relationships must be frozen in time to be real. In our reflections, this distortion echoes the older brother’s expectation that the prodigal should return as the same person who left.
Grace does not demand loyalty through sameness.
It offers loyalty through love.
Grace’s Revelatory Power
Grace reveals loyalty as the steady presence that remains even when people change. It does not require others to stay the same. It simply stays with them as they become who they are becoming. This power is mature and freeing: grace exposes the deceptive veil of “you must remain who I need you to be,” dissolving the illusion that love depends on control. Through this, grace restores relationship: the false self’s possessive distortions fade, allowing loyalty to become the natural expression of the oneness already awakened in the eternal pattern of Passover.
Contemplative Depth
Take one relationship where loyalty has felt like a cage.
Not to change the other person. Just to look at it.
Feel the veil tighten — the subtle demand that they stay the same, the quiet fear that their growth threatens your bond. Then let grace do what it does best: nothing dramatic. Just a gentle turn of attention.
You do not need to control the relationship to keep it.
You only need to notice that the same Life that rolled away the stone is already holding both of you — right now, in this ordinary place of change.
Loyalty is not a cage.
It is an invitation to stop resisting what is already true.
Applying the Insight
When loyalty feels like control, pause.
Ask yourself one quiet question:
“Am I protecting the relationship from fear, or resting in the Life already given?”
Then breathe.
The answer usually changes everything.
Daily Reflection Prompt
Choose one relationship where loyalty has felt heavy. Sit with it for five minutes without trying to control it. Notice where the veil tightens. Then ask: What if the eternal pattern of Passover is already holding both of us? Write what arises.
