The veil has many hooks to deal with.
M5:Week 3: Grace Sustaining Through Trials
Day 4: Grace in Waiting
Today’s Veil to Pierce
You have been taught that waiting is wasted time.
That teaching is the veil of illusion we have called Maya at its most restless.
The false self turns every delay into punishment — proof that you are behind, forgotten, or being disciplined. It whispers that real grace would move faster. This veil creates the illusion that waiting means God is slow or indifferent. In our reflections, this distortion echoes Abraham and Sarah waiting for the promised child while the years piled up — the temptation to manufacture the promise through their own effort.
Grace does not eliminate waiting.
It redeems it.
Grace’s Revelatory Power
Grace transforms waiting by revealing it as fertile ground for the eternal pattern of Passover. The forty years in the wilderness, the three days in the tomb — these were not delays in the story. They were the very soil where new life was being formed. This power is quiet and formative: grace exposes the deceptive veil of “waiting means rejection,” dissolving the illusion that time is working against you. Through this, grace restores trust: the false self’s frantic striving fades, allowing waiting to become a place where the Life that rose on Easter morning deepens its roots in you.
Contemplative Depth
Take one area of your life where you are still waiting.
Not to hurry it. Just to look at it.
Feel the veil tighten — the restless urgency, the quiet fear that nothing is happening, the assumption that delay equals disfavor. Then let grace do what it does best: nothing dramatic. Just a gentle turn of attention.
You do not need to force the next chapter.
You only need to notice that the same Life that rolled away the stone is already at work — right now, in this ordinary season of waiting.
Waiting is not wasted time.
It is an invitation to stop resisting what is already true.
Applying the Insight
When impatience or despair rises in a season of waiting, pause.
Ask yourself one quiet question:
“Am I fighting the wait from fear, or resting in the Life already given?”
Then breathe.
The answer usually changes everything.
Daily Reflection Prompt
Choose one area where you are waiting. Sit with it for five minutes without trying to accelerate it. Notice where the veil tightens. Then ask: What if the eternal pattern of Passover is forming something new in this waiting? Write what arises.
