The veil has many hooks to deal with.

Day 2: Grace as Chesed in Apostolic Movement
Today’s Veil to Pierce
You have been taught that apostolic work is for a special class of pioneers.
That teaching is the veil of illusion at its most restricting.
The false self reserves the apostolic gift for a few called to cross borders and start new works. It whispers that ordinary members are not meant for pioneering movement. This veil creates the illusion that Chesed’s outward movement is limited to the exceptional. In our shared contemplations, this distortion echoes the early church struggling to see that the Spirit was already sending ordinary believers across cultural lines.
Grace does not limit apostolic movement to a few.
It moves apostolically through Chesed in the whole body.
Grace’s Revelatory Power
Grace as Chesed in apostolic movement reveals that the eternal steadfast love is always crossing distances toward those not yet included. Chesed does not stay comfortable inside known boundaries. Charis is this same pioneering love now visible in how the body is drawn toward the unreached, the different, and the not-yet-included. This power is expansive and costly: grace exposes the deceptive veil of “pioneering is for specialists,” dissolving the illusion that only a few are sent. Through this, grace restores outward orientation: the false self’s settled comfort fades, allowing Chesed to move apostolically as Charis through ordinary members.
Contemplative Depth
Take one place where the body or you yourself sense a pull toward those not yet included.
Not to force action. Just to look at it.
Feel the veil tighten — the quiet preference for the familiar, the subtle resistance to cost, the assumption that someone else should go. Then let grace do what it does best: nothing dramatic. Just a gentle turn of attention.
You do not need a special title to move.
You only need to notice that Chesed — the eternal steadfast love — is already crossing distances, and Charis is inviting the body to participate — right now, in this ordinary place of call.
Apostolic movement is not reserved.
It is an invitation to stop resisting what is already true.
Applying the Insight
When the pull toward the not-yet-included rises and the old resistance begins, pause.
Ask yourself one quiet question:
“Am I staying settled from fear, or resting in the Chesed already given?”
Then breathe.
The answer usually changes everything.
Daily Reflection Prompt
Choose one place of outward pull. Sit with it for five minutes without forcing movement. Notice where the veil tightens. Then ask: What if Chesed is already moving apostolically here as Charis? Write what arises.
