The veil has many hooks to deal with.
M7:Week 2: Grace Revealing Oneness
Day 4: Grace in Oneness with Others
Today’s Veil to Pierce
You have been taught that oneness with others requires agreement or sameness.
That teaching is the veil of illusion at its most separating.
The false self draws lines between “us” and “them,” measuring closeness by shared beliefs, backgrounds, or behaviors. It whispers that true oneness is only possible with those who are like you. This veil creates the illusion that division is natural. In our reflections, this distortion echoes the early church struggling to accept Gentile believers as fully one in Christ.
Grace does not require sameness for oneness.
It reveals the oneness already present.
Grace’s Revelatory Power
Grace reveals oneness with others through the Passover revelation of already-given freedom. The same Life that rolled away the stone lives in every person. This power is connective and expansive: grace exposes the deceptive veil of “we must become one,” dissolving the illusion that separation is the baseline reality. Through this, grace restores true community: the false self’s dividing lines fade, allowing you to see and honor the shared Life in every person you meet.
Contemplative Depth
Take one relationship where difference has created a sense of separation.
Not to resolve the differences. Just to look at the person.
Feel the veil tighten — the mental categories, the subtle distance, the assumption that oneness requires agreement. Then let grace do what it does best: nothing dramatic. Just a gentle turn of attention.
You do not need the other person to change for oneness to be real.
You only need to notice that the Passover revelation of already-given freedom has already united you both — right now, in this relationship.
Oneness with others is not achieved.
It is an invitation to stop resisting what is already true.
Applying the Insight
When difference creates distance and the old dividing begins, pause.
Ask yourself one quiet question:
“Am I separating from this person from fear, or resting in the Life already given?”
Then breathe.
The answer usually changes everything.
Daily Reflection Prompt
Choose one relationship marked by difference. Sit with it for five minutes without trying to resolve anything. Notice where the veil tightens. Then ask: What if the Passover revelation of already-given freedom has already made us one? Write what arises.
