Grace and Letting Go

The veil has many hooks to deal with.

M6:Week 2: Grace Releasing Old Patterns

Day 2: Grace and Letting Go

Today’s Veil to Pierce

You have been taught that letting go means losing something important.
That teaching is the veil of illusion we have called Maya at its most fearful.

The false self clings tightly to old patterns, old stories, old ways of protecting yourself. It whispers that if you let go, you will be left empty or vulnerable. This veil creates the illusion that holding on equals safety. In our reflections, this distortion echoes the rich young ruler who walked away sad because he could not release his wealth.

Grace does not force you to let go.
It makes letting go possible and desirable.

Grace’s Revelatory Power

Grace empowers letting go by revealing that the eternal pattern of Passover is always a leaving and an entering. You leave Egypt to enter promise. You leave the tomb clothes behind because you are no longer dead. This power is freeing and generous: grace exposes the deceptive veil of “I cannot let this go,” dissolving the illusion that your old patterns serve you. Through this, grace restores spaciousness: the false self’s fearful grip fades, allowing you to release what no longer fits the Life already risen in you.

Contemplative Depth

Take one old pattern or story you know it is time to release.
Not to force the letting go. Just to look at it.

Feel the veil tighten — the fear of loss, the quiet belief that you need it to stay safe, the assumption that you will be less without it. Then let grace do what it does best: nothing dramatic. Just a gentle turn of attention.

You do not have to let go perfectly today.
You only need to notice that the same Life that rolled away the stone is already making space for something new.

Letting go is not loss.
It is an invitation to stop resisting what is already true.

Applying the Insight

When an old pattern resurfaces and the urge to cling returns, pause.
Ask yourself one quiet question:
“Am I holding onto this from fear, or resting in the Life already given?”

Then breathe.
The answer usually changes everything.

Daily Reflection Prompt

Choose one old pattern or story you sense it is time to release. Sit with it for five minutes without forcing anything. Notice where the veil tightens. Then ask: What if the eternal pattern of Passover is already making room for something new? Write what arises.
